Descriptio

Le concours de musique entre Apollon jouant de la lyre et Pan jouant de la flûte qui porte son nom Le roi Midas, juge du concours, ayant choisi Pan au lieu d'Apollon, ce dernier lui a fait pousser des oreilles d'âne (image de gauche)

La salle de la frise servait d'antichambre pour celle d'Agostino Chigi, le premier propriétaire de la villa.

Elle doit son nom à la frise, peinte à fresque, en 1508 par Baldassarre Peduzzi et qui représente des scènes mythologiques.
