Chalybs[1][2] (chálybis,[1] m[1]; a nomine ethnico Chalybes[3]) vel aciarium[4] est ferri mixtura metallica generis carbonio admixto durissimi. Saepe chalybi alia metalla admixta sunt velut chromium, niccolum, vanadium, ne a robigine devoretur.
