"nomine Lucumone natus est"

That wording seems odd. Is anyone actually born with a name? Toddcs (disputatio) 04:28, 26 Novembris 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"mater Tanaquil fuit. ... cum uxore sua Tanaquil

[fontem recensere]

So, his mother was Tanaquil and his wife was also Tanaquil? Toddcs (disputatio) 04:34, 26 Novembris 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Matris nomen incognitum est. Si quis fontem inveniet, addat. Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 07:41, 26 Novembris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch. Women in the most ancient Roman times did not have an own name, but definitely did not inherit it from the mother, but from the father instead. So Tanaquil could not pass her name to her daughter. It is indeed a mistake: Tanaquil was wife to Lucius Tarquinius Priscus, but mother to Lucius Tarquinius Superbus. --Grufo (disputatio) 07:48, 26 Novembris 2023 (UTC)[reply]
