Tyrannis fuit pagina mensis Octobris 2023.

--Rafaelgarcia 16:11, 1 Decembris 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Amice Aristophanes, quid significat haec locutio? Quis eam scripsit?

Odium cinaedorum, meretricum, hermaphroditorum, vinum, venena oblectationis ('recreational drugs'), habes? Haec locutio, sicut Rafael supra ait, nobis non "encyclopaedica" videtur. Utilibus emendationibus reiectis, commentarium fortasse delenda est. IacobusAmor 12:43, 15 Martii 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral Point of View with List

[fontem recensere]

I personally believe Idi Amin etc were tyrants but need to see the source. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia. There doesn't seem to be a list in the other wikis, at least in the English. Rather than checking each 'tyrant', I think the list should be removed.--Jondel (disputatio) 23:22, 28 Iulii 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tabula delenda est.--Jondel (disputatio) 04:07, 29 Iulii 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the list is frivolous. The word "tyrant" is being applied to many of those people purely on the basis of Western antipathy towards them; for example Yasser Arafat was never widely viewed as a tyrant by Palestinians, only by anti-Palestinian propagandists. In the true sense of "tyrant," an unpopular ruler (often appointed by a foreign power), one would much more readily apply such a label to Mahmoud Abbas than Arafat. This ignores, of course, whether or not Arafat was a good ruler; to call him a tyrant, though, is baseless and emotionally charged. Ligata (disputatio) 06:29, 29 Iulii 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Ligata. Let us wait a bit for opinions of others before deleting. To all, let us be encyclopedialy neutral and use encyclopedic sources and references.--Jondel (disputatio) 07:51, 29 Iulii 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This does resemble an unsourced list of "people we don't like", straying perhaps towards "people whom one or two Wikipedians don't like". I favour deletion of the list. Plenty of room for discussion in text of what constitutes tyrannis, "arbitrary rule", with well-sourced examples: that would be quite different.
