Salve, Conradusrufe!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle! --Martinus Poeta Juvenis 16:47, 9 Novembris 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's most excellent & helpful of you to have tightened up the text of Ilias; but you may not have noticed that that article is one of the thousand essential pages, by which the people at MetaWiki measure the progress of all wikis, and by cutting about 30 percent of it, you'll have reduced the mean length of our articles in the official tabulation. (They measure quantity, not quality.) Since you seem to have an interest in this topic, is there a chance you could compensate for this decline by importing into the article some translated matter from elsewhere? If you compare our paragraphs with what the English wiki says in its article on the Iliad, you'll see how thin our text is. If you have time to help enlarge the other 999 essential pages, you're welcome to have a go! IacobusAmor 13:09, 14 Februarii 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thank you for the encouragement! I actually had not noticed that the page was one of the 1000, but my plan was not only to remove the text copied from the Trojan War page but also to add substantial new content; last night's plot summary was only an initial placeholder. I will be adding much more to the page over the next few weeks and will do my best to make up for the lost content by the end of the week. Conradusrufus 13:25, 14 Februarii 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's all good news. "Translated from other wikis" is OK but substantial new content is much better. I look forward to reading it ... Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 13:40, 14 Februarii 2012 (UTC)[reply]
