mudhoney
[fontem recensere]Hey I saw you working on Mudhoney, and that you labeled it {{in progressu}}Nomen formulae mutavit --Grufo {{in usu}}. If you want to talk about it when you are "done" (or at least done enough that you feel comfortable un-in-progressu-ing it, just send me a note. One thing I noticed, immediate, just by skimming is prima hora is better as ab initio.
Also, two other things:
- Do you have a name you wish to be called in informal discussion? (for instance, feel free to call me Ioscius or Josh)
- Was I correct, above, in assuming you are female?
Once again, welcome aboard! --Ioscius (disp) 21:37, 6 Februarii 2008 (UTC)
- You may as well give me some hints already. The "in progressu" is due to my lack of self-confidence, to tell the truth :-) and due to the fact that I may need some time to add all this formal stuff like the discography
- I already assumed that "prima hora" was a germanism, so I'll change it.
- Yes, I am female, and you may as well call me Bettina.

- Hey, ok so a few things (looking much better than the initial version already)
- This is more of a convention, but lately there have been a few arguments against using Americanus without a qualifying adjective for people in the CFA. I certainly use it, but it has been decried as unencyclopaedic by some.
- You might consider writing out an IPA pronunciation of the name. (not hugely important)
- I'm afraid I don't understand that... Can you give me an example?
- Once you define Mudhoney as a grex, you don't need to keep writing Grex Mudhoney.
- I think I didn't do it, just at the beginning of the article. I used grex several times, actually, but I thought that would be better than use Mudhoney instead. Or did I overlook something?
- You usually fuit ab initio than est ab initio.
- That's because they still exist. Perfect implies a connotation of presence, I know, but in german you would certainly use the presence. Hmmm... But if it's like that in Latin... Didn't notice it till now.
- Italics on grunge?
- I'm not sure if I accidentally used italics, but right now it's written normally.
- primo illustrissimus factus est. something needs to be done about that primo
- I wasn't sure about "primo" either. It's kind of a locus communis concerning Mudhoney, that they were thought of as the Seattle act that would make it. I wanted to imply that Nirvana "won the race".
- I confess I'm not entirely sure what this means : Viri illius Mudhoney autem se numquam famam maximam petivisse saepe contendebant. Does it mean "However, the men of Mudhoney contend that they never sought great fame"?
- Yes, that's what I meant. They say it often in interviews, and they also refer to their favourite bands, that weren't so well-known either. Maybe I should add a source for it.
- Always a tricky thing between languages, the many different meanings of the word "to play" : gaudio ludendi perdito. here, ludere should be more canere. Two sentences later, there is also luserat
- Ok, I'll change it. I just thought I saw it somewhere else here, but I almost expected it to be a germanism.
- Per spatium quoddam multi homines censuerunt illum Mudhoney non iam gregem mansurum esse. By per spatium quoddam do you mean "for a little while"? Also not sure what that illum is doing. And I see how you got from the English sentence to mansurum, but I'm not sure we can use manere the same way. Maybe haerere?
- I meant it like that. The illum, like illius, was used to show the case Mudhoney should have. It was an advice from the Taberna. Haerere sounds good to me. "Per spatium quoddam" was an invention, I think an accusative would be better, but how... I have to think about it - and do a little research... unless you have an idea.
- Not entirely sure what this means : nihilominus officia quasi vulgaria faciunt, ut victus habeant.
- It should say that the band members work for their living. Mark Arm works in the Sub Pop warehouse, Guy Maddison is a nurse etc.
- Hey, ok so a few things (looking much better than the initial version already)
- Certainly not bad for your first article! Let me know what you think of my suggestions. Regards--Ioscius (disp) 16:12, 10 Februarii 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for that one and for your suggestions.

Your account will be renamed
[fontem recensere]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Passera. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Passera~lawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
