Hyotissa mcgintyi est aquae salsae conchylium familiae Gryphaeidarum, marinum magnitudinis mediae molluscum bivalve, in Oceano Atlantico occidentali endemicum. Species huius familiae ostreae favosae (Anglice honeycomb oysters) appellantur quia sub microscopio structura earum testae spumosa videtur.
