Todiramphus gertrudae est periclitatissima avium species familiae Alcedinidarum, solum in insula Niau in Polynesia Francica endemica. Eius habitationes naturales sunt subtropicae vel tropicae silvae siccae, plantationes, hortique rustici. Solum 125 fere aves singulae in terris feris manent.

Todiramphus gertrudae est parva avis multicolor, pennis claris caeruleis, capite aurantio furvo, tergoque claro viridi. Omnes orbis terrarum aves singulae hac in insula habitant, et species in reliquis insulis Gambieranis iam dudum exstincta est. Sine interventu gravi, veri simile est species exstinctam fieri.[1]
