Vicia sativa est species in genere Vicia et familia Fabacearum. Hoc species, Italis antiquis familiaris nomine simplici Vicia,[1] et pabulum animalibus praebet et, si necessitas urget, cibum nobis; legumen autem noxia est nisi bene fervita.
