Ernestus Krenek (23 Augusti 190022 Decembris 1991) fuit compositor Austriacus et deinde Americanus originis Cechicae. Atonalitatem et alios modos musicos modernos et neoclassicismi exploravit, nonnullosque libros divulgavit, inter quos fuerunt Music Here and Now (1939), studium Ioannis Ockeghem (1953), et Horizons Circled: Reflections on My Music (1974). Krenek duas res falso nomine Thornton Winsloe conscripsit.

Vindobonae natus est nomine Ernst Křenek (IPA |ˈkr̝ɛnɛk|), filius militis Cechici in exercitu Austro-Hungarico meruentis. Ibi et Berolini cum Francisco Schreker studebat antequam in variis Germanis theatris operaticis munus conductoris orchestralis sustinebat. Per bellum mundanum II, in exercitum Austriacum conscriptus Vindobonaeque locatus, studia musica continuabat. Anno 1922 in Almam, Gustavi Mahler viduam, et Annam filiam incidit, cui suam Symphoniam 2 dicavit, et quam Martio 1924 duxit. Matrimonium autem per divortium ante primum diem anniversarium finitum est.

Die anniversario octogensimo quinto Krenekiano, urbs Vindobona primum Praemium Ernesti Krenek concessit.
