Cista[1] sive sitella[2] sive urna[3] est capsa in quam schedulae suffragiorum inter comitia mittuntur.

Dierum Imperii Romani initio, quisque elector publico adscriptori qui ea notabant suffragium suum voce dabat; posterius autem schedulis scrutinii utebantur RomanI, quas cives in amphoras deiciebant, urnas vocatas.[4]
